- I have seen adapters where one end plugs into your phone outlet (in
- the wall) then into a box that runs through your AC circuitry. You
- place a converter (the other end) into any AC wall receptacle and
- connect a phone line to it... Instant phone line anywhere in your
- house! It even says right on the box, "Works With Modems!"

- Three times I have seen people pay around $50 for such a device, and
- three times I have seen it fail (even at 2400 baud). You are better
- off paying whatever tremendous rates the phone company asks for
- installing additional outlets.
